Dr. Marcos Lafoz Pastor

Received the Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering in 2005 from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. He was researcher at the Center of Studies and Experimentation of Public Works (CEDEX) until 2008 when he joined CIEMAT. Currently he is the responsible person of the Unit of Electric Power Systems. Additionally he is Assistant Lecturer at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. His expertise comprises advance control of power electronics, electric drives, technologies and integration of energy storage and ocean energy.

Dr. Marcos Blanco

Dr. Marcos Blanco

Received the M.E. degree in industrial engineering, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering and the Ph. D. degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 2007, 2008 and 2016 respectively. Since 2008, he has been working as a research engineer in CIEMAT. His areas of expertise are ocean-wave energy generation, power electronics and electric drives simulation, design and implementation and DPS-based control development.

Gustavo Navarro

Gustavo Navarro

Received the degree in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain, in 2008. Since 2008 he has been working as a research engineer in the Group at Spanish National Research Centre on Energy, Environment and Technology (CIEMAT). His topics of interest are electrical drives and energy storage systems. His areas of expertise are hardware design and power electronics.

Jorge Nájera

Jorge Nájera

Jorge Nájera Álvarez received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2021 by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Universidad de Oviedo. Since 2018 he develops his research activity within the Unidad de Accionamientos Eléctricos at CIEMAT. His expertise encompass the design and development of semi-empirical models for energy storage systems, and the design, sizing, prototyping, integration and control of energy storage systems for electric mobility, grid stability, and renewable generation applications.

Eduardo Rausell

Eduardo Rausell

Received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering in 2021 from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain, and the M.S. degree in renewable energies and power systems in 2022 from the University Carlos III of Madrid, Leganés, Spain, where he is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering. In 2024, he joined the Department of Technology, Research Centre for Energy, Environment, and Technology (CIEMAT), Madrid Spain, as a Researcher. His research interests include the control, modeling and simulation of power converters, renewable energy systems, energy storage systems, and green hydrogen systems.

Valentín Urda

Valentín Urda

Technician specialized in electrical installations and electronic assemblies. Extensive experience in electrical installations in buildings, data, fire protection systems, sound systems, computer and security installations. He is in charge of the electric drives lab, taking care of the equipment, materials for development of prototypes, mounting and commissioning of the prototypes of them. He is also involved in adquisitions and dissemination tasks.
