Dr. Garin joined the Unit for Advanced Therapies at the CIEMAT/IIS-F Jiménez Díaz since 2006, where she continues with the studies initiated at the Imperial College in London on molecular aspects and functionality of the Treg cells (CITYC project SAF2007-66227) and of a European project within the REGENERAR Consortium. This project was a phase Ib/IIa clinical trial in which patients with refractory rheumatoid arthritis were treated with allogeneic MSCs derived from adipose tissue. Dr Garin also holds projects funded by the Spanish Institute of Health Carlos III (PI17/01161 and PI21/01441) where in vivo studies are been carried out in preclinical models of rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease analysing innate and adaptive immune responses responsible for the modulation of inflammation mediated by the MSCs. At present, is member of the TERAV (RICORS), CIBER-ER networks and TE-MODULO Consortium in Madrid.
