Daniel GARRAÍN

Daniel GarraínChemical Engineer PhD at Universitat Jaume I (UJI) (Castellón, Spain). He joined CIEMAT ESA Unit in 2009. During his PhD stage at UJI (2006-2009), he worked in several projects related to the development of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method and its application to several processes and products, some of them were focused on the improvement of the ecodesign concept. His professional and research activities in CIEMAT are focused in the areas of LCA and sustainability and their applications to emerging energy technologies. He joined a 6-month grant as visiting researcher at INRA-AgroParisTech UMR Ecosys, Bioclimatology in Thiverval-Grignon (France), from January to June 2015. He has participated in several national and European projects and published 28 research papers in journals, 9 books, 11 book chapters and +100 papers in international conferences (until September 2018). He has also conducted two PhD theses. Finally, his professional activity is complemented as teacher at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Universidad Complutense (Madrid) in 2011-2012, and as trainer in several specific courses about LCA and environmental issues.
